Access to Recovery (ATR) is a 3-year grant funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA), Center for substance Abuse Treatment. ATR is a presidential initiative which provides vouchers to clients for purchase of ATR-covered services. The goal of the program are to support clients choice and increase the array of faith-based and community-based providers. Examples of covered services include:
* Assistance with gas and transportation costs * Medication assistance * Clothes for job interviews and/or job requirements * Mental health counseling services * Monitoring services * Etc. Requirements for the program are for the individual to be an active participant in the treatment process with regular attendance at all scheduled programming. Individuals must complete an ATR assessment with an ATR specialist to determine financial eligibility and to assess appropriate services.
